As long as you are learning under an experienced and qualified teacher, yoga is a great way to overcome pain in certain muscles and joints. Let your teacher know what and where it hurts exactly and he or she should be able to advise you on poses to do and not to do. I did have wrist pain before due to computer keyboard use and yoga has certainly helped in this aspect.

Chumpman,
You may like to check out our yoga centre listings under Petaling Jaya and try out a studio that is closer to your home. Charges for classes vary depending on the yoga centre you go to. Usually they will range between RM20 - RM30 per class. Or you may opt to sign up for promotional packages like unlimited classes for 1 month or even up to a year (again this will vary according to the studio).

Videos and VCDs are good but of course you will get a personal touch when you attend classes. Experienced instructors will be there to guide you to ensure you are using the right techniques and to help reduce any risk of injuries. You're also more likely to be disciplined to attend classes once you sign up for it. And of course, it's way more fun when you learn yoga in a group! :)

I am interested in doing yoga to shape up my body line and also the stretching part, perhaps somewhere nearer to my home in Kelana Jaya. How much is a class normally? My friend suggested me to check out videos or VCDs on yoga. What's the difference and which is better?
